What Is the Veteran Marketplace (VMP)?

The VMP is a service available to Featured Vehicle Ad buyers. It provides a service to ensure the financial aspect of the transaction remains secure, facilitating the transfer of funds safely from the buyer to the seller. And the transfer of the title safely from the seller to the buyer. 

Step 1: The seller purchases a Featured Ad listing the vehicle and verifies the title on our site by uploading the required photos. Then he/she sends the title to us when they have worked out an agreement with the buyer. 

Step 2: The buyer sends the financial institution the funds.  Note: The title will only be released to the seller when the seller funds have been received and verified by the financial institution.

Step 3: When the title is verified and the funds are verified, each is released to its respective peer. The title will be sent to the buyer via USPS (Signature Required) overnight mail or other mail service. The funds will be sent to the seller using ACH or Wire Transfer, whichever method the seller prefers. An ACH or Wire Transfer will often incur a charge by the financial institution. The seller will be responsible for this charge. The charge will likely not exceed $100 for the funds transfer, regardless of method.

• Identity Verification:  All Veteran/Active-Duty Military personnel are vetted prior to listing the vehicle on the For Sale By Veteran website. All buyer funds are verified for prior to the title being released. FSBV keeps all personal information confidential.
• Title Transfer: The VMP ensures that the title is correctly in the seller’s name, free of any issues, and handles the process of transferring the car title.
• Funds Exchange: FSBV can serve as the intermediary for the transfer of funds, ensuring both the buyer and the Veteran/Active-Duty Military can have confidence in the safety and security of the transaction.

VMP Charges for Veteran/Active-Duty Military Sellers

Seller must have a Featured Listing on the For Sale By Veteran site.

Upon the conclusion of the sale, a service charge of $75 or 0.75% of the final transaction amount (whichever is greater) will be applied.

For example:

For a sale amount of $10,000 or less, fee = $75

For a $12,000 transaction, the fee = $90

For a $25,000 transaction, the fee = $187.50

For a $35,000 transaction, the fee = $262.50

For a $50,000 transaction, the fee = $375

And so on.
